The work carried out consisted of the drafting/elaboration of the Final Design of the Wastewater Treatment System (PTAR of Bilwi).

The planned works consist of the following actions:

The Bilwi PTAR has been designed for a flow of 15,769.7 m3/day; that is 164,264 inhabitants with an endowment of 120/l/day/inhabitant.

As for the treatment line, it is generally summarized in the following processes:

  • Water line: pre-treatment (coarse well, head pumping, coarse roughing and desanding-degreasing), anaerobic lagoons, facultative lagoons and ripening lagoons. Finally, discharged into the Bilwi River.
  • The sludge line has the following processes: sludge stabilization in anaerobic lagoons and dehydration in drying beds.
