The overall objective of the project is the development and integration of 3D Scanning, BIM, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies for programming, execution and simulation of WWTP maintenance operations so that a virtual 3D model of the WWTP is available which is an effective tool for your maintenance and repair operations.
Maintenance and repair operations on wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) facilities are often carried out in environments that make it difficult to handle the equipment. This is an aggravating factor when it is also a question of responding to an emergency situation such as flooding of modules, breakdown of equipment and accidents. 3D, BIM, VR and AR scanning technologies are an effective solution in cases where the sequence of operations involves a large number of steps whose follow-up in the predefined order is critical, and serious problems can arise if the correct sequence of steps is not performed.
The virtual environment allows for this level of experience to be acquired without risk to the person, the facility and the process, allowing an assessment of the progress of the training and not allowing the operator to transfer his experience to the real world before a predetermined level is reached. The virtual environment will allow the operator to experience the consequences of errors directly and how to resolve incidents that may occur.
