Strategic Territorial Project (PTE). It is an urban planning instrument that aims to organize, manage and develop territorial intervention of unique business initiatives with a high impact, in terms of the generation of income and employment. Vielca drafted all the required technical documentation and the PTE was approved by agreement of the Council of the Generalitat Valenciana on December 16, 2022.
DNSH Principle (2022, 2023, 2024). Compliance with the DNSH (Do Not Significant Harm) principle is being applied to the gigafactory project, ensuring that no such harm is caused to any of the six environmental objectives of the European Union: climate change mitigation; adaptation to climate change; use and protection of water and marine resources; circular economy; pollution prevention and control; and finally protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems. Vielca has supported PowerCo in this compliance in the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Integrated Environmental Authorization (AAI), including its environmental impact assessment. This is the environmental intervention instrument that PowerCo requires for the development of its activity, for the purposes of protecting the environment and people’s health. Vielca has drafted the integrated environmental authorisation project, which analyses in detail aspects such as the raw materials used and products manufactured, the water and energy used, emissions and waste, etc. An ordinary environmental assessment of the construction, operation and cessation of the facilities has also been carried out. The drafting of this documentation was completed in 2024.
Geotechnical study of Phase 1 (2023)
Assistance with permitting: analysis and processing of permits. (2023 and 2024). Vielca has supported PowerCo in the development of a strategy for obtaining permits to build and operate the gigafactory, including support and coordination with the Public Administrations involved.
Assistance on machinery and equipment. (2023 and 2024). The work consisted of advising PowerCo on everything related to the legal requirements and standards that the machinery and equipment must meet, as well as their fit into the general permitting strategy previously mentioned.
