Detailed description of the project

The project is part of the pipelines that start at the Oropesa Desalination Plant to meet the increase in demand that will occur in Oropesa, Cabanes and Benicassim in the short and medium term. Among the branches supplying the towns mentioned above, the one in question runs from the diversion chamber located at km 10+430 of the South Main Branch (Oropesa) to the “La Parreta” reservoir in Benicassim.

The specific works consist of the construction of a 700 mm diameter PN10 Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester pipe (hereinafter PRFV) of 7372.22 ml. The action is framed within the municipalities of Oropesa and Benicassim (although practically the entire route is developed in the latter).

Practically the entire route of the pipeline has been designed along the old Valencia-Barcelona railroad line. The pipeline begins at the diversion chamber located at km 10+430 of the main south branch within the municipality of Oropesa and ends at the 5,000 m3 “La Parreta” reservoir in the municipality of Benicassim.

The work is completed with the execution of the complementary elements of the network, such as suction cups, drains, derivations, service galleries, etc. It affects the urban area of Benicassim, the Barranco Fartja ravine, the Barranco Sigalero ravine, the Frailes path, the Mohino wash, the N-340 and the Valencia-Barcelona railroad line, among other singular points Along the route, the work affects all types of services (telephone, drinking water, sanitation, rainwater, gas, electrical conduits, etc.).

The work includes the remote control and monitoring of the flow meter placed at the inlet of the “La Parreta” reservoir as well as the environmental measures derived from the environmental documents that affect the project.
