The project to expand and improve the sanitary sewerage system is aimed at solving the current deficit situation and providing the city of Matagalpa with a drinking water and sanitary sewerage system with the necessary capacity to meet the demand of the population expected by the end of the design period 2023 – 2043. The project is divided into two stages:

PHASE I: According to the proposed execution plan, the investment cost for Phase I of the Project amounts to US$ 53,563,317.62 (Fifty-Three Million Five Hundred Sixty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Seventeen dollars). This stage includes the construction of a) Collection network; b) PTAR treatment works c) Indirect, Admin. and Utilities.

PHASE II: The investment cost for Phase II amounts to US$ 11,292,336.32 (Eleven Million Two Hundred Ninety Two Thousand Three Hundred Thirty Six Dollars with 32). This phase includes the following works: expansion of pumping stations, individual solutions for areas without AS network coverage and addition of a treatment module in the PTAR.
