On November 14, Dr. Bernardo Arévalo de León, President of the Republic of Guatemala and Dr. Joaquín Barnoya, Minister of Health, made a visit to the construction of the new Chiquimula Modular Hospital. Vielca Ingenieros SA in joint venture is in charge of supervising the design and construction of the hospital, which will have an extension of 10,504 square meters, distributed in four modules. The facilities will have a capacity of 214 beds and will benefit more than 425,000 people with its services. It is anticipated that the works will be completed in December 2025 and the health activity will begin in the second quarter of 2026, assuming a significant improvement in medical care in the eastern region.
