The sports complex “EL POLVORIN” in San Salvador.
This project is part of the transversal axes of the National Sports Institute for the recovery of the sports infrastructure at the national level. This project envisages the rescue and improvement of the current buildings and sports fields as well as the construction of buildings that meet the current needs. The project is developed on 37,012.83 m2 of land reusing the existing infrastructure.
The Study consisted of three phases:
- The first stage is the knowledge of the site in its physical and technical conditions both of the land and of the existing buildings to determine the possible and necessary interventions; the study of the activities of the actors to determine the space requirements for the execution of their tasks producing the Architectural Program translated later into the urban and architectural proposal of the new sports complex EL POLVORIN.
- Stage 2 the technical development of the URBAN ARCHITECTURAL idea in the different systems that constitute the CONSTRUCTION PROJECT in a process of refinement and adjustment of the architectural design.
- Stage 3 (the detailed final and processing and ordering of the information to set up the project. Here the project was defined in sub-projects per building with the aim of providing for the construction development in phases or stages such as to allow the continuous operation of the Sports Complex.
