The project consisted of the inventory of water infrastructure, assessment and diagnosis of the drinking water and rural sanitation system not managed by ANDA at the national level.
The following actions were taken:
1 .Analysis of existing information
2. Search for contacts related to SAPS drinking water systems
3. Survey of information throughout the country, including:
- Geo-reference of each water system visited: tanks, fountains, discharge points
- Measurement of water quality, residual chlorine content
- Tank filling test
- Determination of flow at source
3. Quality control
4. Introduction of the information collected into a geo-referenced database.
5. Data obtained:
- 2325 SAPS not administered by ANDA
- 1333 systems supplied exclusively by pumping
- 828 systems powered exclusively by gravity
- 463004 dwellings supplied
- 444,389 home calls
- Determination of flow rate of 2,242 storage tanks
- Determination of depth at 945 wells
6. Updating of the national hydrogeological map
