Detailed description of the project

The following works are planned:

  • New system of sewerage pipes (3,734 m driven and 1,140 m in gravity) and two new pumping stations, to convey the wastewater generated in the coastal area of Alcossebre to the new treatment plant of Alcalá de Xivert.
  • Construction of the new Alcalà de Xivert Waste Water Treatment plant of 18,000 m3/day (90,000 h-e), consisting of:
WATER LINE. Pretreatment which includes: sieving (2 channels equipped with rototieve and one emergency channel), two desanding-degreasing channels, sand sorter, grease concentrator; regulation tank of 3,400 m3; three (3) carousel type biological reactors (treatment by activated sludge in prolonged aeration) of 7,062 m3 each; three cylindrical gravity decanters of 28 m inner diameter and 3.50 m useful height. Tertiary treatment: filtration in continuous washing sand; in-line UV disinfection with by-pass; in-line chlorination.
SLUDGE LINE. Sludge pumping; two gravity thickeners concreted in situ, 10m in diameter; sludge conditioning (polyelectrolyte); sludge dehydration with three centrifugal decanters of 11 m3/h; sludge transport to a storage hopper of 50 m3.
OTHER: Electrical installations; Control and instrumentation; Auxiliary services; Deodorization system for pre-treatment, thickening, dehydration and hopper; Control building
